Speakers:

Gary Burtless will provide an overview of what the US labor market holds in store for public assistance recipients, and how the US policy environment has responded to changes in that labor market.

LaDonna Pavetti is considered by many to be the economist most familiar with the programs, and evaluations of same, which the states have enacted to try to move clients from welfare to the labour market. She will deliver an overview paper on "what does work and does not work in workfare-like programs" in various states.
