Several areas of empirical research on labour and industrial economics. Recent work has considered: international changes in wage and employment structure, with particular attention to technological change and the declining role of labour market institutions; the economic impact of minimum wage floors; intergenerational earnings and educational attainment nobility in Britain; employer provided training and job mobility; child development and relative success or failure in the youth labour market; crime and the labour market in Britain.
