Dr. Frances Woolley

Research Interests:
At present I have a number of on-going research projects centering around the allocation of resources within the family. First, I am working on two theoretical papers modelling family decision making and labour supply. A second project, which I am working on with Dr. Judith Madill of the School of Business at Carleton, involves a survey of the financial management practices of 300 families in the Ottawa-Carleton area. We have just finished collecting the data from this survey, and are beginning preliminary analysis of the results. Third, I am active in feminist economics research, and have recently published a critique of Gary Becker's Theory of the Family in Feminist Economics.
